a store that just gets us June 02 2014, 0 Comments
We’ve been hearing about a new shop called Joinery for a while now, and luckily, a recent brunch excursion to Williamsburg left us just around the corner with some time to kill. Spoiler alert: we killed our wallets a bit too. Unlike many of the super minimalist boutiques popping up in New York’s trendier neighborhoods, Joinery, more than anything, feels cozy and warm, in every sense of the word.
It’s a brightly lit, cedar-scented space that nails the “welcome to my fabulous apartment where everything happens to be for sale” vibe. Joinery sells a mix of home goods, womenswear and menswear, from enamel Reiss cookware to Rachel Comey clogs, the ultimate cool-girl clompers. One of our favorite things about the space is that while it has a great boutique vibe, it’s not so overwhelmingly styled that your average dude would feel uncomfortable browsing around (with good reason too—founder Angela Silva’s significant other owns the fantastic Williamsburg menswear shop Hickorees Hard Goods).
As if we needed more convincing, the amazing girl who rang us up insisted on gift wrapping the soap we bought just for ourselves; Joinery just gets us. Without further ado, some of our picks from their online shop below!
This surprisingly comfortable chair, for staining whichever color you like, piling with cute pillows or hauling outside to your porch, should you be lucky enough to have such a thing.
This fantastically unexpected tie, for standing out in a crowd. Wedding season is upon us!
These minimal earrings, which are somehow both delicate and warrior-like.
This stylish keyring, to clip onto your belt loops or beach bags.
A perfect thank you note! Because you never know when you'll need one.
